  • 1st Canoe with Greg. Meet at Veterans Memorial Boat Ramp at the north end of New Germany Lake, 8:00am.  Canoe or kayak for a guided paddle on the lake and north on the LaHave River. More info contact Greg at gdselig@ns.sympatico.ca  Rain date Sunday July 2nd.


  • 1st Children’s Parade @ Rosedale Home for Special Care (lots of parking & viewing space) Registration starts at 9:00 am Parade starts at 9:30 am Prizes will be awarded in several categories Theme: Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday Dress as a soldier at the Citadel, a lobster, a fishermen, a maple leaf or anything that is Canadian! Sponsored by New Germany and Area Lions Club


  • 1st Bean & Salad Supper 4:00 – 6:00 pm New Germany Legion $10.00 A delicious salad and home made bean supper with decadent cake for dessert!

  • 9th Special Service, New West Pine United Church in Pinehurst at 4:00 pm. Everyone is Welcome to attend this service. The service will be followed by a Community BBQ at Pinehurst Community Hall. Please plan to attend.

  • 22nd Mobile Hazardous Waste Collection, 9:00am to noon, @ New Germany Freshmart.  Drop of residential hazardous waste and unwanted electronics.  Call Lunenburg Regional Community Recycling Centre 543-2991 for more information.


  • 22nd Silent Auction, East Dalhousie Community Hall.  Admission free. New items and baked goods. Refreshments: Pie, tea or coffee $2.00  Doors open at 6:30p.m. Bidding 7:00 -9:00pm.  Proceeds to East Dalhousie 200 year celebration


  • 25th South Shore Public Libraries Bookmobile @ New Germany Freshmart, 3:00pm to 6:00pm.


  • 26th Teenagers will be doing a Food Drive in your area in the evening. They will be at your door to collect non-perishable food items. All donations will be going to your local food bank in New Germany. These teenagers are part of an event called Tidal Impact, seeking to make our neighbourhoods a better place. They will be wearing Tidal Impact t-shirts and Tidal Impact bracelets. Please give generously! If you are not home, items can be left by your door. For more information go to www.tidalimpact.ca

  • 9th 34th Annual Heritage Blueberry Festival at 3005 Barss Corner Road, Maplewood. Meal served from 12:30 to 5:30 pm.  For more information phone 902-644-2893.


  • 17th NGAPS Pot Luck Community Picnic under Main Street Maples.  Bring a cold dish, salad or a dessert and join us under the maple trees for a community picnic. Hot dogs, cake and ice cream free. Everyone welcome. This event is sponsored in part by the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.

  • 25th Health and Wellness sponsored by NGAPS, at New Germany Rural High School, 1:00 to 6:00pm.  Free, everyone welcome.
