Miss Margaret Trethewey   Bridgewater Bulletin, dated June, 1941.

The death of Miss Margaret Trethewey occurred at her home in New Germany on Monday afternoon, following a brief illness.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Trethewey and was born at New Germany 72 years ago.  Miss Trethewey was a school teacher for a number of years and later held the position as telephone operator in New Germany, after which she went to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where she resided for a number of years.  On her return to New Germany she resided on the old homestead.  She is survived by a sister, Gladys, a lawyer in Moose Jaw.  A brother, Colonel Carey Trethewey, of Vancouver, died suddenly last fall.  The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C.C. Veinot and were largely attended.  Beautiful flowers testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held.
