The New Germany Volunteer Fire Department
will be building a new fire station at the corner of Highway #10 and Fire Hall
Road. This new building will include six truck bays, meeting and equipment rooms
as well as space for a community RCMP office and the New Germany and Area Food
Bank. The new facility will replace the existing station which has been enlarged
and repaired over the past 50 years and needs many upgrades to meet today's fire
fighting demands. The new fire station will primarily be paid for from monies raised by the fire department
and their savings, as well as by the ratepayers of the area served by the New
Germany Volunteer Fire Department. Construction is planned to start in
September.
