Open House at the new Fire Station.

Sunday July 23, 2006.

The official opening of the new fire station in New Germany was held on Sunday afternoon, July 23rd.  Under alternating sunny and rainy skies, the event was well attended by the firefighters of NGVFD, members of the community and firefighters from neighbouring departments.

The master of ceremonies for the afternoon was firefighter John Parnell, with presentations being made by both Deputy Chief Gary Seamone and Chief Blair Lantz.  The fire station was jointly blessed by Reverends Catherine and Gloria.

Preparing for the ribbon cutting are Treasurer Rex Walters, firefighters Mervin Mossman, Les Little, Chief Blair Lantz, Councillor Cathy Moore, MLA Michael Baker, Deputy Chief Gary Seamone, firefighters Peter Bowers and James Alexander.

Chief Blair Lantz has the honour of cutting the tape and declaring the fire station officially in service.

June 24, 2006.  Move In Day!

 

 On a rainy June Saturday the trucks and equipment of the New Germany Volunteer Fire Department were moved to the new Fire Station.  Later that afternoon NGVFD answered the first call responding from the new Station.
